· 2 carrots
· 2 Tbsp honey

Combine dry ingredients.
Add wet ingredients to dry and mix thoroughly, scraping the sides and bottom of the bowl to be sure none of the dry mixture is left. Grease a muffin tin with non-stick spray. Training treats:
A reader suggested posting some recipes for treats for training so here goes:
Stinky Cheese Turkey Balls
1 1/2 lb. Ground Turkey
1/2 Cup Parmesan Cheese
1 Cup Steamed and Mashed Sweet Potato
1 Cup Quick Oats
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Mix all the above ingredients in a large bowl. Make 1" balls, place them on a non- greased baking sheet and bake for 15 min. or until done (your oven may differ from mine). Keep refrigerated in a air tight container. Freeze any that won't be used within a couple of days. These are great treats to use when training and can be easily broken into smaller pieces.
Fish Fudgies
12 to 14 oz of canned tuna, salmon or mackerel - do not drain
1 1/2 cups unbleached all purpose flour
1 teaspoon minced garlic (optional)
2 eggs
Grated parmesan cheese (optional)
Process fish, garlic and eggs in food processor or blender or mix in a bowl, mashing thoroughly with a fork. Add remaining ingredients and mix to a brownie-like consistency. Spread into a 9x9-inch greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees F for 20 minutes. When the fudgies are done, they will have a putty-like texture and the edges will pull away from the sides of the pan. Let cool until easy to handle, then cut into bars. These bars are easy to break up but don't crumble easily. I usually cut them into three strips one way and eight or nine strips the other way. Allow to cool thoroughly before putting into a sealed container.
Ice Pops for Doggies
32 oz vanilla yogurt
1 mashed banana or large jar of Baby fruit
2 T peanut butter
2T honey
Blend all together and freeze in 3 oz paper cups or ice cube trays.
Microwave a few seconds before serving.
Turkey Loaf
1 pound ground turkey
1 cup cooked brown rice
1 egg beaten
1/4 cup fresh chopped parsley
3 tbsp. wheat germ
1/2 cup carrots
2 tbsp. minced garlic
Combine all ingredients in a large bowl and mix well. Put
into a lightly greased loaf pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 60
minutes or until done. Serve slices over dry dog food.
Note: Fresh garlic is good for the skin, helps repel fleas and aid digestion; parsley will take care of the breath!
Birthday Cake for Canines
1-1/2 C all purpose flour
1-1/2 tsp baking powder
1/2 C margarine, softened
1 jar beef or liver baby food (2-1/2 oz)
2 strips dog beef jerky, crumbled
1/2 C corn oil
4 eggs
Plain yogurt or cottage cheese
Sift flour and baking powder together; set aside. In large bowl, with electric mixer at medium speed, cream margarine until smooth. Add corn oil, baby food and eggs; mix until smooth. At low speed, gradually beat flour mixture into beef mixture until batter is smooth. Fold in beef jerky. Pour batter into well-greased and floured 8"x5"x3" loaf pan. Bake in a preheated 325F. oven 70 minutes. Let cool on wire rack a few minutes before removing from pan to cool completely. Ice each slice with yogurt or cottage

What Is A Dog Treat? By Micki Voisard
As a Dog Chef, I've noticed that people seldom consider the treats they feed to their dog as the extra calories that might be adding inches to the dog's waistline. Or that the ingredients in dog treats are not something that would be healthy for a dog.
What is a treat? I checked in the dictionary and a TREAT is considered to be: anything which gives great or unusual pleasure; a delight; a moment of special time. The definitions do not say: something bought from the store and made to look like a human cookie!
So “a treat” could be a pleasurable car ride with your dog, letting him hang his head out the window and drool like a fool. Or, as a “delight” it could be a small piece of zucchini with cream cheese on it or like my friend, Fred, gives his dog - an ice cube! Fred's dog doesn't know that the majority of dog owners would not consider an ice cube a treat. But Fred's dog loves it because it's a “moment of special time” between Fred and his dog.
When was the last time that you got down on the rug, eye to eye with your dog and played on his level? If you haven't done it for awhile, your dog might be scared and not sure of what you might be up to, but since dogs live in the moment, he'll catch on.
A moment of special time is all we have left when our dog leaves us for the beyond. I will never forget those still shots permanently etched in my mind of having fun with my dogs.
Arnie at the ocean for the first time, Gerty doing circles as we played in the yard, or Otis wagging his tail and his butt in shear joy when he heard the car keys. Those are the priceless treats - forever!
Bone Apetit!

1 clove garlic
1/4 cup olive oil
1/4 cup boiled chicken chunks
Wash apple. Cut off tip of apple. Remove a small bit of the center of the top of the apple, enough to put a cut up clove of garlic and chicken chunks in. Put apple upright in baking dish and drizzle the olive oil over the top. Put the dish in the center of a 350 degree preheated oven and cook for 10 to 15 minutes.
Remove and cut in chunks to cool. Slightly mix the ingredients and serve. You also can add cottage cheese if desired. Great for a treat once a week and you can share this with your dog! For small dogs, use half an apple or a smaller one. Always undercook for your dog and if sharing, you can cook yours longer.
Chicken Oatmeal Muffins
Submitted by Dog Chefs of America.com
2 chicken breasts with skin (deboned)
Water
Old Fashioned Oatmeal
Olive Oil
Eggs
Optional: Parsley, Cottage Cheese, Garlic
Put one chicken at a time in a blender. Add 1/2 cup water for each piece. Pour the blended chicken in a bowl. Add enough oatmeal to thicken the mixture. Add 2-3 Tablespoons of olive oil. Add more oatmeal, if needed. Beat 2-3 eggs and fold into the mixture thoroughly. At this time, you can add cottage cheese, the garlic or parsley, if your dog is used to these foods.
You can either put the mixture into individual muffin tins or just scoop an amount out with a large spoon and put onto a cookie sheet. Cook at 350 degrees for 15 - 20 minutes. Remember: You want to undercook these foods. Your dog has a stomach that is equipped for rawer foods. These muffins can be a meal in itself or used as treats. They can be frozen and thawed for use.
